JAX works with college athletes to help them highlight and translate the unique experience of being a college athlete into outstanding interview performances delivered with professionalism, confidence and outstanding soft skills.
Athletes begin meeting with JAX coaches and mentors during their junior year, participating in the "Career Self-Exploration For Student-Athlete's Workshop," and then 1:1 throughout their senior year to prepare them for the job interview process, including customized support for each scheduled interview.
JAX works with athletes on their time schedules, meeting in-person on campus and via videoconference on days/times that work for the athlete.
Athletes and parents alike can be assured that as the end of their college athletic career nears, your athletic program will support the often challenging transition from college athlete to post-grad career through JAX's specialized programs and coaching that supplement campus career center support.
Once on-board we schedule a brief meeting with the head coach and campus career center rep to discuss the game plan and timing. From there we proactively organize working with the junior class and reach out to each graduating senior, keeping you in the loop with monthly engagement reporting.
To kick-off with the junior class, we leverage SupportforSport.org's "Career Self-Exploration for Student-Athletes Workshop." The workshop aims to help student-athletes identify transferable skills that they have developed through their athletic program participation and which are valued in the workplace. They will develop career self-exploration skills that are a foundation of the career development process.
Research for the workshop was funded by the NCAA Innovations in Research & Practice Grant.
